The Perfume  >  History
History
Fragrance pervades the history and culture of man for almost seven centuries. It has developed various functions among the different peoples, religious and profane: the term "perfume"  comes from the latin  - per fumum - which literally means "through the smoke" from the moment that the first perfumes consisted of burnt aromas such as incense, an offering to the gods and to ancestors.

The art of mixing aromas, which originated in the Middle East, spread towards the West, Greece and Rome with the military campaigns of Alexander the Great, before conquering Asia through the mediation of Arab merchants and then returned to Europe at the time of the Crusades, thereby closing a circle that links, in a delicate and perfumed way, human customs and traditions throughout the world.
