Chypre

It was François Coty who created the first Chypre composition, which was derived from the evocation of the atmosphere of the island of Cyprus, which at the time was the holiday resort in vogue among the Upper Class. Coty recreated in a fragrance all the sensations he felt during his journey: if he had been an artist he would have painted a landscape…… with the passing of time this accord became a base structure, which the perfumer could then develop in line with his own imagination, and is always composed of bergamot, rose, jasmine, oakmoss, patchouli and labdanum. Some components of the original accord have been substituted with synthetic molecules, which give a lighter and more modern feel to the creations.

Fragrances which are timeless and synonymous of achievement,  Mitsouko by Guerlain, Trussardi Donna Classico, La Perla Classico, Aromatics Elisir by Clinique have all been very popular in the female universe an have given us a myriad of interpretations.  Narciso Rodriguez for Her represents a lighter declination, with fresh floral and white musk accents;  Femme by Rochas and Yvresse by YSL reveal their fruity shades, whilst  Miss Dior shades of green.

In all cases they denote fragrances which have character, temperament and strength, infinitely multiplying the determining seductive power of the chypre structure.
